What the hell is a risograph?

We make most of our cards and prints using a Risograph printer, a brand of digital duplicators manufactured by the Riso Kagaku Corporation in Japan. While originally designed for high-volume photocopying and printing, modern artists and designers have started to use a RISO in new and creative ways.

A RISO is like a digital screen printer. Every time you want to add a color, you have to send the paper through the machine. Since the inks are not fully opaque, you can make interesting colors by combining two or more inks.
